Women’s NRL: Scores and Competitions

Australian interest in the NRL remains strong due to its rich history, intense matches, and prominent position within the country’s rugby culture. Fans actively support their teams and closely follow the league’s developments, including men’s and women’s competitions. Considering the 2023 women’s NRL scores in season and exciting games, members and fans pay attention to knowing the game results and outcomes of NRLW teams striving for victory. Looking back to the NRLW 2022 season, which allowed forming a professional league today, and looking forward to the women’s NRL grand final, it can be stated that rugby continues to attract fans.

What is NRL

The National Rugby League (NRL) is Australia’s premier rugby league competition. It joined the Rugby League and Super League. The NRL is in charge of both the men’s and women’s rugby league tournaments.

NRL Teams

The women’s NRL in 2023 comprised teams from Australia and New Zealand. To date, the men’s league has 17 teams.

Game duration of NRL

How long is the NRL game? An NRL match includes two periods, each measuring 40 minutes, making it 80 minutes. It is normally presumed to be between 90 and 100 minutes in total, with halftime and other breaks. If we are talking about TV, in different countries, there is miscellaneous time, so we can`t say what time the women’s NRL Grand Final is.

The Women’s Grand Final NRL

The Women’s Grand Final NRL began in 2018 and has completed its year’s mode of matches. This is followed by a playoff series ending with a final game, the Women’s NRL League Grand Final. The first two Grand Finals were played concurrently with the men’s on the first weekend in October at the ANZ Stadium. NRL women’s teams award premiership rings for the champions to the players, and for the successful club, revenue sources of membership and selling merchandise step up.

The last years, women’s NRL ladder and women’s NRL results today looked like this:

  1. Brisbane Broncos: 2018, 2019, and 2020 league champions. No runner-up.
  2. Newcastle Knights: Years of won 2022, 2023. No runner-up.
  3. Sydney Roosters: In 2021, they became champions for the first time. They were runners-up in 2018 and 2020.
  4. St George Illawarra Dragons: No win. Runners-up in 2019 and 2021.
  5. Parramatta Eels: No win. Runner-up in NRLW 2022.

Gold Coast Titans: No win. Runner-up in 2023.

Women’s NRL Teams for 2023

The 2022 NRLW Premiership season

This is the fifth professional rugby league season for women in Australia, which began on August 20 and lasted for seven weeks. Five rounds of the season and four teams competed in the series’ semi-finals; the Grand Final was played on 2 October, preceding the corresponding men’s event. This was the last season before NRLW became the professional league it is today. As mentioned, six teams took part in the Premier League of 2022.
